“I Had to Write the Perfect Novel, So I Was Frozen” – Louise Penny

It’s fascinating to hear a published novelist talk about writing her first book. About doing it, not knowing if it ever will be published. About feeling that it must be better than anything ever, and therefore how do you actually write that? About writing the whole thing, knowing that “writing it” may be all there is in the end. Louise Penny, author of the best-selling Inspector Gamache detective series, talks with CBS about this time in her life. As I watch, I’m thinking, “I want to be her friend.” And then, “She has the same glasses as mine, so we’re practically friends already, right?”
