Women At Woodstock West and East will follow parallel themes and topics. The first workshop of WAW 2013 will be “Healing Past Wounds.” A panel of 3 experts will present their perspectives and insights into healing past wounds, and then will discuss these outlooks together. The discussion will then open up to the entire group. We’ll share some activities and exercises, and finally we’ll have ample time to talk among ourselves and have individual and small-group conversations with all of the presenters.
So – the first presenter I have the honor to announce for the Healing Past Wounds Workshop is Gloria Loring! Do you recognize that name? Yes, it is indeed that Gloria Loring, aka “Liz Chandler” on “Days of Our Lives!” Here’s just a short recap of Gloria’s amazing and varied career:
Gloria Loring is the recording artist of the #1 hit song “Friends and Lovers;” co-composer of television theme songs “Diff’rent Strokes” and “Facts Of Life,” which she also sang; an audience favorite as “Liz Chandler” on “Days Of Our Lives;” one of the few artists to sing two nominated songs on the Academy Awards; and is the mother of R&B singing sensation Robin Thicke.
Ten million daily viewers loved her as Liz Chandler on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.” Yet while the cameras rolled each day, Gloria was quietly wrestling with her own real-life dramas—the diagnosis of her young son’s diabetes, the unraveling of her marriage, and a nagging inner voice from childhood that told her something was wrong. Her new book, Coincidence is God’s Way of Remaining Anonymous, details a series of extraordinary coincidences that transformed her life, and offers prescriptive insight into how each of us can use coincidence for our own good and the good of those we love. Gloria will be on the panels of both our West Coast and East Coast workshops in 2013!
